New business partnership launched in Charnwood

Charnwood businesses are being urged to sign up to a new partnership to help drive investment in the borough.

Business Connect inCharnwood aims to bring together businesses and Charnwood Borough Council to shape future policies, schemes and innovations to help companies thrive in the area.

It will also provide local businesses with a strong, collective voice in the borough.

The partnership has been developed by inCharnwood, the Council’s economic development and regeneration team, and it will work alongside other business groups in the area.

Councillor Jennifer Tillotson, the Council’s lead member for economic development, regeneration and town centres, said: “We’re excited to launch Business Connect inCharnwood as a way of strengthening ties between local businesses and the Council.

“I want to be clear that this is not another talking shop – we are committed to making sure this partnership delivers real, tangible actions and outcomes.

“We hope it will also be an opportunity to bring in business people who may not have been involved in anything like this before. There are so many innovative businesses, people and entrepreneurs in the borough and we want to try to harness and develop that potential.

“This partnership is about creating a community where businesses can connect, collaborate and have their say on policies that will shape the future of our borough.

“I encourage all businesses in Charnwood to take advantage of this fantastic free opportunity and join us in continuing to make the borough a vibrant and thriving place to do business.”

Membership to Business Connect inCharnwood is free and businesses can sign up at: www.incharnwood.com/business_connect_incharnwood

Members will receive regular business updates and invitations to business-focused events. When signing up, there is also an option to express an interest in joining the new business partnership board.

Board members will look to steer strategy, act as a consultative “sounding board”, work together to deliver initiatives which address topics of local importance, and generally be a voice for businesses.

inCharnwood is a brand developed by the regeneration and economic development team at Charnwood Borough Council. The team works closely with other parts of the Council, businesses and with a wide range of partner organisations to help create a strong economy for the area.
