Update on free event for Charnwood businesses and entrepreneurs

Time is running out to secure a place at a free event for Charnwood businesses and entrepreneurs.

It comes as more details are confirmed for the event - Celebrating & Connecting Business inCharnwood - which is being held on Wednesday, 5 March 2025, at Charnwood Campus in Loughborough, a science, innovation and technology park which is home to a number of successful businesses.

Proceedings get underway at 9am and will run until 1pm, with lunch provided for guests.

Come and hear from a panel of entrepreneurs and businesses who will be discussing key challenges and sharing their lessons learned, as well as sharing top tips for success, along with advice for businesses seeking support.

There will be the opportunity to hear about finance options for your business from the British Business Bank and find out about interest-free loans from The Sir Thomas White Loan Charity.

The Department for Business and Trade will be discussing the opportunity that exporting can offer small and medium enterprises (with their help and guidance) to achieve business growth.

The event has been organised by inCharnwood, the economic development and regeneration team at Charnwood Borough Council.

It will celebrate the success of entrepreneurs and businesses who have received support through Loughborough University’s incubator programme, as well as the Council’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund-backed Loughborough Emerging Startup Accelerator and Scale Up programme.

It will also be a perfect chance to network with businesses from the local area and region.

Councillor Jennifer Tillotson, the Council’s lead member for economic development, regeneration and town centres, said: "We are delighted to be hosting this free event to celebrate and support our thriving business community in Charnwood.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for local businesses and entrepreneurs to gain insights from industry experts, explore funding opportunities, and make valuable connections.

“Whether you're a startup or an established business looking to grow, this event will provide the tools and networking opportunities to help you succeed. I encourage all local businesses to attend and take advantage of the support available."
